Whooops, I'm a little behind on my blogging! :)
So I lost a total of 8.2kg in the 12 week body transformation, and am now 55kg. I am still going strong with the healthy diet and exercise plan, but have not signed up for round 2. In fact this afternoon I am going to try bikram yoga for something new, and I am looking forward to it...
Just started semester 2 at uni, and looking forward to finishing my 3-year degree by November this year. 21st bday coming up in October. All very exciting.
Just thought I should update, I will post some of my uni work soon as I am doing writing poetry and writing autobiography, and should have something creative to post very soon :D

Nothing fancy, just the ramblings of a 20 year old female. Feel free to follow. :D

DUSK - a poem
Light blue.
The sound of traffic.
Scurrying of children’s feet, clanging of wire doors.
The sun still burning bright, yet sinking.
The kids come out to catch the last of day.
A thousand smells of dinner on the stove.
People on the streets.
Some with dogs.
Medium blue.
Doors closing.
Blinds being drawn.
Light switches flicking.
Empty streets.
Dark blue.
Televisions lighting loungerooms, glass eyes fixed on screens.
The sound of the hose next door sprinkling water on the leaves.
Tree-tops silhouetted high above the roof-tops.
Bright streetlights casting their glow over nothing.
Assuring us there’s nothing there.
Preventing dark from ever truly falling.
Dark.
Eyes closing.
The distant echo of a mystery dog.
The rambling and screeching of trains on their tracks.
The hiss of cats at war on a fence.
Dreams.
*This poem was inspired by an evening walk when I first started the 12WBT :) hope it makes you all want to walk after dinner! :D

2.5kg and counting :)
Hello fellow 12WBTers, ;) hope you are all doing well on your weight loss journeys.
So this morning, I weighed 62.0kg :) woohoo.
I was 64.5kg when I started to change my eating and exercise habits late January in preparation for the Michelle Bridges 12 week body transformation. By the week before, I was 63.3, and by weigh in week 1, I was 62.3 so the numbers are going down steadily. My aim is to be between 55 and 60, but I haven't been this for a while so not sure what is ideal for me yet.
I do allow myself a small sweet treat with a cup of tea most days (ie. 2 squares dark chocolate), but other than that, I have been cooking the healthy meal plans or similar and following the exercises 6 days of the week. With Mum, Dad, my brother and his fiance, I've had to cook for more than myself most days, but they have also been enjoying the healthy food (albeit with some added calories for them, like a side of potato or rice - soooo tempting!). I must say I am enjoying them a lot too :) Never realised that healthy food can be so quick and easy to prepare. I'm doing the shopping on Tuesday for this week's stuff, so tomorrow will be chicken and spinach wrap, not the beef sandwich, but as long as I have healthy options I'm getting comfortable substituting stuff when I can't make the selected recipes.
There's no greater motivation than logging in to the forums or the facebook page to read about everyone elses challenges, successes and general conversations. Yesterday was my third super saturday session as I began them early, and boy it was hard to get to the 1000 mark, but I pushed through spin, then joined Mum in the gym for some extra cardio and weights. If you have that benchmark, you just have to wait til the HRM gets up to it - I must say, if I didn't have the polar HRM, I would probably give up much quicker, and "OVERESTIMATE" how many calories I've burnt on the machines. Who would think it would take 2 and a half hours to burn 1079 calories!? :S ouch. But back I went this morning, choosing to have my rest day on Mondays as I will be working 9-5 and why sit on my butt all day on Sunday when I have to try and squish a workout in before or after work Monday? :)
Thanks everyone for the support on facebook and the entertaining posts in the forums - it's going to be a great 11 more weeks!
Off to see Tim Minchin at the Palais Theatre tonight - praying they don't bring out the icecreams/snacks in intermission. Practicing saying NO!!!!!! already lol. :P
Burnt over 500 calories in my 80 min workout this morning, but don't want to waste that effort for crappy fatty food.
Cheers,
Nicole.

Watch my Heart Beat.
Okay,
So Friday afternoon I decided, that's IT. Everyone has one of these fancy heart rate monitors that tells them exactly how much they're burning in a workout, and I WANT ONE TOO. So off I went to Rebel Sports, got myself an FT60 purple (it's pink) HRM. I tried and tried to bargain with the sales guy, can't you do it any cheaper than $300??? (it was $250 online + P&H) but it was marked down from $400 in store (CRAP). Anyway, luckily he was conversational, and he asked where I train, as my local gym has a deal with Rebel Sports that their members get 10% off, so I paid $270, which I was happy with, as I really like to have things in my hand when the money is gone from my account, not waiting for it to arrive in the post for days after my money is gone! :)
Despite already having been to the gym, I was OFF yet again to try out the new gizmo now strapped on and ready to go. I burnt 488 calories at the gym, and being workout number 2 for the day, was very happy with those results ;)
The next day, I knocked on my older brother's front door at about 10am asking if he wanted to take his dog (Siberian Husky) Harley for a walk to the shops (which I had driven past on my way to his house). So off we went, girl, boy, dog and jerry can (to get petrol for his lawnmower). He held the dog while I went in to get fresh "firm white fish fillets" for Mish's baked fish and chips (I had no idea WHICH firm white fish fillets, as being 20 years old and never having bought a piece of fish myself, I half expected to see "firm white fish fillets" for sale, little did I know I had to choose!). :P
Back home we went, I even ran a little with the dog (not meant to but it was FUN). Got home and then dragged my other brother out for a half hour walk later in the afternoon. Got a little sunburnt (put sunscreen on between walks 1 and 2 as I wasn't planning to go for the first one), but burnt 600 calories purely from walking. This was my non-gym day as I had done 14 gym workouts in 14 days and had to ban myself from the gym so I could have a 'rest'. But my Polar HRM could not have a rest, as it was only one day old!!! :D
I love to watch my heart beat, and see it churning through all those calories. BOOM. BOOM. :D
and I've lost 900g since last Wednesday :) so woohoo.
Fat-burning dreams,
Nicole.

Staring at Closed Eyelids.
Do you ever lie in bed, waiting to fall asleep, when you suddenly wonder if you're staring at the roof, or if your eyes have in fact closed?
This is one of the small feelings in life that fascinates me. That the human brain can actually become lost in the darkness before our eyes. Is the darkness my ceiling, 6 feet above me, or is it my eyelids, attached to the very things that are perceiving the dark?
Everyone has these small moments when they wonder about things... we just need to take more time to appreciate them, and even enjoy them.
I've just signed up for Michelle Bridge's 12 week body transformation, and I plan to take the time to enjoy the small things much more once I start to work towards a healthier and happier me.
Anyway, my day begins at 6 o'clock tomorrow morning, so that I can exercise bright and early!
Time is ticking. Better go stare at my ceiling (or pillow as I often sleep on my stomach).
Goodnight!
